SLCC Softball Dominating Add Comment    May 04, 2010

Going through the different schools today and looking for updates, I stumbled across the SLCC softball Assistant Coach information. As I began to read and look at the team entirely, I was amazed at the program as a whole.  I have a friend at church that is a head coach for a local high school softball team and when I spoke to her about the program, she had nothing but great things to say about the team.

Since 2006 the team has won the regular season SWAC title and in 2008 the team won the Region 18 Championship for the second time.  At the NJCAA National tournament SLCC was seeded third and went on to finish 5th overall.  This pitching staff is one of the best in the nation with 309 total strike outs in 2009 which led the SWAC conference.  This staff also completed a 25-0 home record.  Overall in 2009 they were 49-9 with a 2.70 ERA.  These pitchers have been awarded the SWAC Pitcher of the Year.  This is a great team that currently ranked number in the nation and just won their 50^th game.
