SUU VB - Thunderbird Volleyball Set to Begin 2010 Campaign Add Comment Aug 12, 2010
CEDAR CITY, Utah - Aug. 11 - SUU volleyball players took to the court for their first practice of the 2010 season on Tuesday afternoon, marking the genesis of the second season of the program after the inaugural season in 2009.
"We are excited to get going," said head coach Debby Baker. "We look a lot better than when we started last year and it is great to have a year of experience. I'm also happy with the depth we have this year and really look forward to what this season will bring."
Southern Utah will return ten letter winners from the 2009 squad, including the Summit League Freshman of the Year Analaine Pelaez. They will be joined by five newcomers - four freshmen and a junior college transfer, Jordan Anderson from Yavapai College.
Fans will have their first chance to catch the 2010 roster in action on Saturday, August 21 in the yearly Red/White Scrimmage at 7:00 p.m. in the Centrum Arena.
