SALT LAKE CITY The Westminster womens soccer team unveiled the schedule for the 2010 campaign on Monday.  Head coach Tony LeBlanc has put together one of the toughest schedules in the four years of the program, starting with two road games against NCAA Division I opponents.  The schedule features seven home games and a trip to Florida. 

Westminster begins 2010 in Orem, Utah on August 13 against Utah Valley.  This is the second consecutive season the Griffins have begun the season against this in-state NCAA DI rival.  Westminster then travels to Pocatello, Idaho to battle another NCAA DI foe in Idaho State on August 16.  The Griffins are 0-5 all-time against NCAA DI opponents. 

The home opener on Dumke Field is slated for August 24 at 11 a.m. against Northwest Nazarene.  Westminster is 2-1 all-time in home openers.  On August 28, Westmont visits Dumke Field at noon.  This is the first meeting between the Warriors and Griffins.   

Labor Day Weekend its off to Florida and two games against teams from The Sun Conference.  On September 4, Westminster visits Northwood in West Palm Beach and follows that up on September 6 against Saint Thomas in Miami.  These two games will be the farthest east the Griffins have traveled in the programs history. 

A three-game home stand begins on September 10 against Point Loma Nazarene.  The Griffins faced PLNU in 2008 on the road and dropped a 1-0 decision.  Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) battles the Griffins on September 12 on Dumke Field.  Westminster is a perfect 3-0 all-time against Embry-Riddle.  Point Loma Nazarene and Embry-Riddle will play each other on Dumke Field on September 11. 

Frontier Conference action begins on September 19 as Great Falls makes its annual appearance at Dumke Field.  Westminster is undefeated in six meeting with the Argonauts including a perfect 3-0 at Dumke Field. 

Westminster travels to Caldwell, Idaho for two games starting on September 25 against Eastern Oregon.  The Griffins are 3-1 in neutral field games all-time.  The road trip concludes on September 26 against the College of Idaho.  This will be the third meeting between the two teams and the first in Caldwell.  Westminster is 0-2 in those previous meetings. 

The final home stand of the year begins on October 3 against Frontier Conference foe Rocky Mountain College.  These two teams have met eight times since Westminster started womens soccer, the most of any Griffin opponent, with Rocky holding a 5-3 advantage in the series.  Senior Day is slated for October 5 at 3 p.m. against Carroll College.  Westminster is 0-5-1 against Carroll, but they are a perfect 3-0 on Senior Day. 

The season ending five-game road trip begins on October 15 in Prescott, Arizona for a second meeting with Embry-Riddle.  Westminster then faces Southwestern (Ariz.) on October 16 in Phoenix, Arizona to complete the weekend.  The Griffins are 2-0 all-time in games played in Arizona. 

The regular season concludes with a tough three games in four days trip to Montana.  Westminster opens the trip on September 21 in Billings against Rocky Mountain.  Two days later the Griffins face Great Falls in the Electric City on October 23.  Finally, Westminster faces Carroll on October 24 in Helena in the regular season finale. 

The Unaffiliated Conference Tournament featuring the top teams from the Frontier and Dakota Athletic Conferences is scheduled for November 4-6 with the winner receiving an automatic invite to the NAIA National Championships.  The NAIA Opening Round is scheduled for November 20 with the final four rounds taking place on November 29-December 4 in Decatur, Alabama. 

The third season of womens soccer at Westminster saw the Griffins advance to the championship game of the Frontier Conference Tournament. Although they dropped a 5-0 decision to Carroll College in that championship game, the Griffins completed the season at 9-10-1 overall with a 4-2-1 mark at Dumke Field.
