Poor Shooting Gives Utah a Loss Against San Diego Add Comment Jan 20, 2010
It is amazing to think that Utah had a chance to win this game. As close as the final score seems, it is extremely hard to win games when you shoot around 30%. With a minute left in the game the Utes trailed by nine points. Most of the fans in the stadium had lost hope and started heading for the exits. But the Utes kept pushing. With Drca's 3 point shoot and the Aztecs Tyrone Shelley missing his free throws, there was hope for Utah. Unfortunately with 4 seconds left in the game, Carlon Brown's 40 foot lob was unsuccessful.
Although missed shots were a factor, The Aztec's Malcom Thomas and Kawhi Leonard had incredible nights, both getting double-doubles.
Utah has an extremely talented team, but all their players can't choose the same game to have an "off-night". Utah will have to prepare hard become contenders in the MWC.
Final Score: San Diego 70 - Utah 68
