Jeff Evans to Tee Off at U.S. Amateur Pub Links Today Add Comment    Aug 06, 2010

GREENSBORO, N.C. - July 12 - SUU golfer Jeff Evans gave up his opportunity to play in the Utah State Amateur last week, choosing instead to participate in the U.S. Amateur Pub Links tournament that is scheduled to begin this morning.  A win at that tournament will mean a qualifying berth to the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. 

Evans will be among the first competitors on the course, drawing a 7:00 a.m. tee time and will be joined by Scott Rubzin of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. and Brent Martin of La Plata, Md.  The tournament is scheduled at the Bryan Park Champions Course in Greensboro, N.C., with a par of 71, measuring 7,195 yards.  The course was designed by Rees Jones and opened in 1990. 

The tournament is scheduled for two stroke-play qualifying rounds on Monday and Tuesday with the top 64 advancing to match play rounds, lasting through Saturday when a champion will be crowned.
