We find ourselves less than a week away from the 2011 Letter of Intent signing day, where all the hype surrounds a group of high school players.

The Utes are at a crossroads.  Will they succeed with the "week-in, week-out" schedule of the PAC?  Or will they fold like a wet blanket?  With the additions of new Offensive Coordinator Norm Chow, and new Offensive Line coach Tim Davis, the Utes have set themselves up for a great freshman year in the PAC12.  Many questions remain as to exactly what type of offense the Utes will employ.  Chow has indicated that a mixture of a pro-style and spread will be used.  Do the Utes have the horses to run this new scheme?  Time will tell.  Will Jordan Wynn be ready for the season, after undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery?  He will certainly be out for spring ball, which will set him back in his progress with the new offensive system.  The defense will be as steady as ever.

Utah has arguably their best recruiting class set to sign on the dotted line on February 2nd.  They are competing for recruits that just twelve short months ago wouldn't have given the Utes a second look.  If they can land a couple of those that they are still in the running for, it will raise the bar for future classes.  Utah has always succeeded with "blue collar" type players.  Will Utah move away from what has gotten them to where they are?  Not likely, according to Coach Whittingham.  They will continue to recruit the players that fit the Utah mold.  

He would know.  He has been building this program since 1994.
