UVU Wolverines Win the Great West Conference Championship! Add Comment    May 30, 2010

May 30th, EDINBURG, Texas-A come from behind victory is what Wolverine fans saw Saturday afternoon.  UVU beat Northern Colorado Saturday in a teeth grinding, fist pounding, edge of your seat game.  UVU was behind late in the eighth inning trailing 3-1.  With a couple of hits the Wolverines climbed back up quickly and Arendse hits the winning shot for UVU pulling them ahead of UNC 4-3 late in the 10th inning. Brendan Hall ended it with a line dive into the left field sealing the deal for UVU and the whole dug-out came rushing out to meet him in a large dog-pile, just putting an exclamation point onto their well earned season.  

UVU with their 14th game winning streak and ends their season with a record 42-17.  I would say this has to be one of their best seasons played at UVU.  The Coach and Players all say they couldn't have imagined a better way to end the season then with a come from behind victory.    

"This has been the best year of my life...the best four years of my life," said senior Jace Brinkerhoff. "I couldn't imagine a better way to go out. Coming from behind, I couldn't have written it up better. It's been a team effort all year. Fighting it out all year and finding ways to get it done. This is the best team I've been around. It's special." (a)

It has been an amazing year for UVU's Baseball.  We can't wait to see what will come of next year.  Way to go UVU Wolverines!!
