UVU Soccer Drops Sunday Match at Utah State Add Comment Sep 19, 2010
LOGAN, Utah -- After picking up a win in its season opener on Friday, Utah Valley fell on the short end of a 4-0 match on Sunday afternoon at Utah State.
The Wolverines (1-1) trailed 1-0 at the half before three second-half goals sent the Aggies (2-0) to the win. The loss ends UVU's seven-game winning streak dating back to the 2009 season.
Natalie Norris scored two goals and added an assist for Utah State and was credited with the game-winning goal after scoring on a header in the 27th minute.
The Aggies scored goals in the 63rd, 75th and 87th minutes in the second half. Norris' header from six yards out on Stefani Shiozaki's second assist of the day capped the scoring.
The Wolverines were limited offensively by USU, finishing with just six shots overall and two on goal from Nicole Archibald Spencer and Regan Clifford.
Utah Valley will travel to El Paso, Texas next week for a neutral-site game vs. Texas State on Friday, Aug. 27 before taking on host UTEP on Sunday, Aug. 29. The Wolverines play their first six games away from home before hosting Northern Colorado on Sept. 12.
