SALT LAKE CITY The Westminster womens lacrosse team has signed Alexandrea Ferdig to a letter of intent to join the Griffins next season. Ferdig is the first recruit to sign with Westminster for the 2011 season and she will enroll at Westminster in the fall of 2010.
Ferdig prepped at Riverton High School where the 5-4 defender helped the team to a runner-up finish at the 2010 Utah Division I State Championship. As a senior, Ferdig was named First Team All-State and an honorable mention All-American. She is a two-time Academic All-American and a member of the Riverton Honor Roll.
Alexa is a strong athlete and a great defender, Westminster Head Coach Niki Harding said. She is a versatile player and will be a great addition to our roster
The Westminster womens lacrosse team completed the second year of the program with a 5-8 overall record. They opened the year with three consecutive victories, including back-to-back wins on the road at Boise State. The Griffins finished 2-4 in Rocky Mountain Womens Lacrosse league games.
